Getting your car ready for Winter
It’s raining, it’s cold and the nights are getting darker. However, it’s not all doom and gloom – there’s plenty to look forward to! While we promise not to mention the ‘C-word’ we will say that it is a good idea to make sure your car is prepared for the months ahead. Here are our tips on getting your car ready for winter.
Check your tyres
Making sure your tyres are in good condition is a key part of getting ready for those Wintery roads. Check the pressure is correct, inflate them if necessary and take the opportunity to check for bulges, splits and tears.
Book it in for a service
You should keep on top of regular servicing anyway but what better time to get it booked in. Our service centre can offer everything from a health check to a full service. We can check your brakes and fluids, oil levels and tyres.
A Winter Breakdown kit
Having a breakdown kit on board your car can be a massive help. Things to include in this are; a shovel, torch, blanket, hi-vis jacket, screen wash, food and water, scraper, de-icer and suitable shoes in case you have to walk! It might be worth packing a few extra layers too if you haven’t already got them on.
Lights, Camera, Action
Okay, not quite, but lights are so important at this time of year. Clean your car lights so they are free from debris, check all your bulbs and make sure that all your lights are in full working order. With less daylight hours, you will be using them a lot more than you would in the Summer months.
