How Can You Buy a Car in Lockdown?
How Can You Buy a Car in Lockdown?
Are you looking to upgrade your car but unsure how to go about this as the country enters a second lockdown. All of the available information can be confusing and contradictory, what can you do to navigate these unsettling times? Fear not as most car dealers during this second lockdown will be operating remotely through email and telephone communication even whilst showrooms are closed to the public.
To ensure you can still purchase a vehicle over lockdown in a safe and stress-free way, here at Smallbone and Son we are providing contactless click and collect as well as click and deliver options which includes FREE NATIONWIDE DELIVERY of vehicles. To answer any extra queries you may have about the purchasing process whilst staying COVID safe contact our sales team on 0121 472 7139.
Finance and Part-Exchanges!
Whilst showrooms are closed to the public there will be staff working to ensure that car sales including part exchange and financing can all happen. As I wrote earlier, dealers that can operate will do so remotely. So one of the first things that you should investigate in your efforts of purchasing a new or used vehicle is to figure out which dealership can provide the neccessary services such as click and collect or click and deliver options to ensure your purchase is safe.
Here at Smallbones we are providing our customers with click and collect as well as click and deliver options on top of providing financing quotes and part exchanges. If you are looking to part exchange your current vehicle, the more information that you can provide the dealer the likelihood of the dealer being able to accurately value the car and giving you a reasonable price will increase. Taking several images of the car both inside and out including any areas of damage and forwarding these to the dealer this will greatly improve the valuation given to you. The key areas dealers are looking to find out about are the condition, mileage and service history of the car. A dealer, like ourselves will have services and outlets in place able to provide a part exchange service if the vehicle is described accurately and transparently.
Should you require finance a phone call with the dealer will be able to quote and propose you through to the lender. Once accepted by the lender all paperwork will be forwarded to you to read and ultimately sign online. The dealer will in all probability require the payout of the finance before collection or delivery. Even so as it will be a distant sale you have added security from any issues that might arise from not first seeing the car before signing the agreement.
What you can expect upon collection or delivery?
If you have decided upon the click and collect option then you simply follow the instruction given to you by the dealership. Usually the handover will be at their address but outside of the showroom as this should be closed. The car along with the original up to date copies of paperwork and keys will be in a secured area within the car. You are at liberty to look over the car and take a short drive. The dealership will have in place the necessary insurance to allow you to do so on your own. If you have chosen the delivery to your door option then the car will be delivered to you, and depending on the dealerships policies and your distance from the dealership this may incur an additional cost so be sure to enquire. However, here at Smallbone and Son Cars we will be providing FREE NATIONWIDE DELIVERY on all vehicles purchased from us over the lockdown period. Our cars will be presented in a clean and sanitised condition, using a new to the market sanity system, whichever way you decide to recieve the vehicle.
To summarise, you can feel safe whilst buying a car during these current lockdown conditions taking all precautions and be able to do so confidently.
