Christmas events 2020 still happening around Birmingham

There are plenty of ways to feel festive this year in and around Birmingham and the Black Country.

Many attractions are adapting their Christmas events to adhere to lockdown rules. Government rules say that families can enjoy the festivities as long as they remain within their local area and don't travel into a different tier.
As of December 3, 2020, the following events are going ahead this Christmas. All require advance booking and are subject to change depending on the current government advice. Be sure to check travel restrictions before attending.

Winter Wonderland at Tamworth Snowdome

Father Christmas is bringing his Winter Wonderland back to the SnowDome from December 16. There will be an extended reception area plus a larger theatre for a Covid secure experience.

Expect real snow, real animals and a new winter wonderland show plus a chance to explore Santa’s Christmas snow trail, take a walk through the enchanted forest, enjoy a game of snowballs, hitch a ride on a sledge and have fun sliding about in the snow tubes.

Christmas at Cadbury World

Cadbury World is hoping to put on a pantomime and a chance to see Santa in a special stage show from December 19 to 23.

The Bournville attraction, which is in Tier 3, is currently closed but it plans to offer Christmas festivities, depending on government guidance.

Festive Day Out at Alton Towers

There’s a Festive Day Out planned at Alton Towers, including a selection of outdoor rides and attractions, an illuminated gardens walk and outdoor festive entertainment for people who live in the local area.

This includes a socially-distanced grotto visits where kids will get to see Father Christmas on the veranda of his grotto at the theme park on weekends between December 2 and 16, when the next review of the Covid-19 tiers will take place.
(Farley Lane, Alton, Stoke on Trent)

Christmas at Warwick Castle

Historic Warwick Castle, which is in Tier 3, has announced it will reopen the outdoor grounds for people to enjoy Christmas at the Castle from December 5 but is urging guests to follow Government guidance.
