Ford Fiesta ST Review

The Ford Fiesta ST has received raving reviews. A practical, good looking and ultimately very fun hatchback is hard to knock.

One of the main draws to the Fiesta is the low price, with the ST-2 starting at just £17,250, it was easy to see why so many people flocked to Ford garages up and down the country when it was released. Used Ford Fiesta ST cars are even more of a bargain! Despite the low price, don’t think you’ll be short changed in terms of equipment. The ST-1 comes with DAB radio, air conditioning and Recaro Front seats, a far from basic car then.

The EcoBoost engine beneath the bonnet may sound very friendly, but it’s anything but. The 1.6-litre turbocharged engine offers up 180bhp, pushing the little car to 62mph in 6.9 seconds, and it won’t stop pushing until it reaches a very illegal 139mph, but let’s save that for the track!

If you reduce the traction-control system, or turn it off altogether, it’s a bit wayward. You have understeer and lift-off oversteer and patches of cling-on-for-dear-life grip, and the upshot is… it’s really good fun! While it may not have endless power, you know that when you plant your foot down and really stretch it, you’re using every last bit of horsepower. Who wants to buy a supercar and use a tenth of its potential when you could invest in a Ford Fiesta ST, have change in your pocket and a smile on your face every time you step inside!

They were a bargain when they were brought out and used Ford Fiesta ST cars are an absolute steal now. Every trim level is worth the increase in price and stumping up the extra cash for the Mountune upgrade just puts the car on another level.
