Things to do in Birmingham this Summer

Summer is just around the corner, so we have put together our top picks of the events going on in the city. Check out the events below and let us know where you’re heading.

Make Believe

Make Believe is the new Summer exhibition at BOM and is designed for all ages to enjoy. The interactive space will be filled with activities and challenges, incorporating augmented and virtual reality. With four international artists, artificial intelligence and the chance to create a 3D painting with Google Tilt Brush, there is plenty to see and do. The exhibition is open from 7th June to 31st August with all the information available online.

Foodies Festival

The UK’s biggest celebration of food, drink and live music returns to Cannon Hill Park from 21st to 23rd June 2019. Music, masterclasses and top chefs will all form part of the weekend with over 30,000 visitors expected to attend. Find out more and pre-book tickets online for this event.

Brindley Place Film Festival

Free to attend and running from 15th to 21st July, the Brindley Place Film Festival returns to the city centre for another year. While we don’t know the line-up of films just yet, we do know that it is sure to be a great event. Bring a chair with you and choose a place to sit for one of the many screenings they are hosting this year. We have however been teased with ‘the latest and greatest films’ and maybe even ‘a sing-along or two’.

Great Birmingham Run

Slightly outside the Summer bracket but we felt like this one still deserved a mention. The Great Birmingham Run 2019 will take place on 13th October and you can run in aid of Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice for another year running. To find out more about the event and the charity, head online now.

These are just four of our top picks and there’s plenty more going on across Birmingham this Summer!
